Valley Arts [evolve teaching manual]
•
This project entailed the design of an innovation new teaching pack
for science teachers. The general purpose of this teaching aid was
to bring new and creative ways of teaching, such as drama and dance,
into science lessons. The design aesthetic thus picked up on themes
of creativity, self-expression and movement. The pack itself consisted
of 3 A4 booklets, ranging from 36 pages to 66pages. These booklets
were then presented in a screen-printed card-board presentation
box.
Sunderland
Education Action Zone [Secrets of Sunderland]
•
This project centred around the design of 3 booklets, including
1 large format A3 booklet, and also the design of billboard posters
- which were used around the sunderland area.
• It involved extensive typography / creative image making
/ illustration / photography to reflect and support the content
presented in the booklets.
• The project also entailed liaising between the printers
& client to ensure the quality production of 2000 copies of
each of the booklets and billboards.

Partnerships [Wheatlands
Harvest]
•
This book project was developed for Creative Partnerships - Tees
Valley. Its aim was to promote the writing & artwork of year
4 children from Wheatlands Primary School. The project involved
taking photo's of all the children involved in the project and including
this also in the book.

We have completed a number of design projects for this environmental
group, including posters, leaflets, photography, and also a web-site

Writing North [Secrets
of Sunderland]
•
This project entailed the design, layout & production of 14
large banners [8' x 3'], to be displayed in the Bridges Shopping
Centre in Sunderland. It involved liasing between the clients and
printers to ensure the correct materials were used for producing
the banners [in accordance with fire regulations etc].

•
The work for this project entailed the design & layout of the
40 page 'Cockerton Cocoa ; Local History Project' book. It was achieved
in collaboration by working with children at the school, and utilized
their artwork & creative writing, in addition to my own photography
& creative skills.

This design project involved the formulation of a full visual identity
for this independent record shop, which was implemented across a
variety of visual components.

•
The work for this project entailed the design & layout of the
36 page 'Haughton Impact Project' book. It was achieved in collaboration
by working with children at the school, and utilized their artwork
& creative writing, in addition to my own photography &
creative skills.

The work in this project centred around the design of a flyer to
promote this alternative punk bands new album 'The Disillusion is
Real'.
SureStart
[Path In the Dark]
•
This design project entailed the design of a 28 page anthology to
exhibit poetry and ceramic work produced by participants of SureStart.
• It involved the use of photographic work and an ability
to design & layout the selected texts/imagery in a visually
meaningfull & appealing way.
• As funding was a key concern this informed the decision
to utilize a 2 color printing process to keep production costs low.

This project represents an on-going collaboration with Biscuit Publishing
and thus far has involved the creation of 3 book covers for use
on; the poet Maureen Almonds new anthology - The Works,
the writer Ruth Henderson's new book - The Other Side Of The Tide,
and Tracey Fullers new book - Silver Vessel.

•
The project represents a collaboration with renowed African/Jazz/Reggae
musicians & thus far has involved the design of a Visual Identity
and CD Artwork/Packaging for the band 'Roots Melody'.

Arts [C2C]
•
This project centred around the design of a set of postcards to
showcase the work of a number of poets. It was consequently achieved
in collaboration with a number of writers & artists.
• The design task was to visually accentuate the meaning of
the poetry and consequently involved extensive communication with
both the writers & the client.

Arts [Seen & Heard]
•
This project entailed the design of a 40 page book & promotional
leaflet in order to promote the Seen & Heard programme which
is operated through TeesValley Arts
• It was achieved in collaboration with a writer and covered
all areas of the design process, including the conception of ideas,
the presentation of these ideas to the client, designing both the
images to be used in the book and the layout of the body text, and
also liaising with the printer in the actual production of the book.
TrueNature
•
The design work produced for this project included the full conception
of a Visual Identity for use in promoting this complementary therapy
business.
• It involved the design of promotional elements such as Business
Cards/Posters/Flyers etc. The communication process focussed on
Nature & Relaxation and consequently involved the use of a selection
of my photography work.

Morning Britain
•
The design work produced in this project was used by music promoters
from the Good Morning Britain collective in order to publicize their
upcoming events.
• It involved the speedy design of a series of posters which
could be mass produced on a large scale within a restrictive financial
budget.

This project entailed managing the production of promotional design
work in relation to a relaxation room made available through Hartlepool
